Category: Broadcaster's Lounge
I recently took over management of an Afrikaans radio station. We're hosting with JbServers.net. Apart from paying for an IP address to which we can stream, the servers also allow us to upload about 2 gigs of music that can be streamed when no one is broadcasting.
This is all well and good, but, unfortunately the interface of the control panel where you actually manage your music to the auto dj, and where you can schedule repeat broadcasts of programs etc., is very inaccessible for me.
I did approach the guys from JBServers.net about this, but, the response I got from them was, shall we say, less than desirable.
I considered streaming the music from my own computer, but, the 2 disadvantages to this is
1. That I don't have pc that I can set aside only for this, and the 2 machines I have, I regularly nneed to use for my work, etc.
2. In South Africa we are still heavily capped on our bandwidth, and for me to be streaming all the time when there's no live shows, would cost a fortune paying for extra bandwidth.
Because of all this, naturally, an option similar to what we already have, would be the best, but hopefully, with a more accessible control panel and interface.
Since I know that there's a lot of you guys out there with your own radio stations, I'm wondering how you solv this?
Any recommendations on where else I could have our stuff hosted, or something?
I would appreciate any and all help I can get in this regard.
Thanks!
Sounds rough...I'll keep a look out.
